Paul Dunlap – Founder’s Story

Paul Dunlap is a Southern California native who has grown up appreciating the history and value of the area he lives in. He has personally witnessed and been involved in the explosive growth of the Southern California real estate market, giving him a unique perspective and ability to identify and seize premium investment opportunities for his clients.

Paul began his professional real estate career in 1976. By the age of 23, he was overseeing a large portfolio of income-producing apartment properties for Cambio Real Estate Investments in Orange County, California. Paul was involved in all aspects of the business, including sales, brokerage, group investments, packaged acquisitions and investor communications. While at Cambio, Paul worked with over 500 investors and managed a portfolio of 4,000 units. During that time, the company’s apartment portfolio grew from 600 units to well over 10,000.

In 1991, Paul formed his own company to offer clients a more personalized investment experience, without the layers of inefficiency and bureaucracy found at larger firms. His success has come from his keen ability to identify prime investment properties under the radar of others less experienced in the area, and in matching the right investment property with the right client.

One of Paul’s core beliefs, and a key component of the company’s philosophy, is to invest in properties that preserve the quality and individual character of a community. Paul has personally spearheaded the redevelopment of many such properties, including the historically significant California Hotel (now called Villa Del Sol), which has helped revitalize downtown Fullerton’s business district. Paul firmly believes that recognizing and investing in the long-term potential of such assets not only helps a community maintain its identity and integrity, but also provides outstanding and highly desirable investment opportunities for his clients.

Paul is active in many industry organizations, including the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, the Orange County Apartment Owners Association and the Institute of Real Estate Management.

His deep commitment to the communities he serves is expressed in a wide range of community and civic activities, including the Boys & Girls Clubs, Child Share (benefiting foster and adoptive families), Art for the Soul (supporting the healing process for terminally ill patients), Southern California Doberman Rescue, Chambers of Commerce, and various Cal State Fullerton athletic teams.
